Simple Home Improvement Projects
A strange thing happens when a couple purchases their first home — they suddenly start doing things on their own. There are practical reasons for this, of course. Apartment dwellers can always call the super when the toilet is clogged or the sink is leaking, while homeowners have to pay for all of these little repairs. But economics is not the only issue. There is also pride of ownership to consider.
Perhaps that is why couples visit home improvement centres and dream up little projects soon after they move in. In this article we are going to discuss one of the most popular projects that nearly any homeowner can complete, installing blinds in Essex.
Where to begin? Using a tape measure, you must record the height and width of each window that needs a blind. Measure from the inside of the window frame and be as precise as you possibly can.
Later, when you visit the home improvement centre, give the measurements to the window treatment specialist and let him know that all measurements were taken from the inside of the window frame. Since windows are typically standard sizes, you should have many options from which to choose.
Now it's time to put them up. The installation process really is a cinch. The only tools you will need are a power drill and step ladder. Each window treatment will include a number of screws and metal or plastic brackets. They must be screwed into place on the inside of the window frame. Once that is done, the main rod can be inserted in the brackets and covered by the valance. The entire operation should only take around five minutes per window.
