Whilst a professional finish and expensive, yet skilled, tradesmanship is all very appreciated, many of us like to get our own hands dirty and do the job ourselves. This saves a lot of money and keeps our home renovations personal.

This is all very well and many of us love to stand back and admire our work, accomplished at the expense of only a few Pounds, Euros or Dollars. The sense of pride as we put the finishing touches to a domestic masterpieces is invaluable, however many attempts and sore thumbs it took to get there.

The array of tools and equipment available to us is ever increasing and DIY is now a very easy task, given very little prior knowledge or abilities. The choice of tools and options is fantastic and this leaves open a whole new world of interior possibilities.

All of this allows up to put our own personal stamp on our homes and give them our own touch. This increases our sense of house pride and many a couple take their upholstery and colour scheme decisions very seriously indeed.

Whether it's home improvement, personalisation or gardening, we are more and more frequently turning to our own handiwork to improve our homes. Let's call this something of a do it yourself revolution.
